Around The World In Eighty Dishes – Halal
This cookbook is not like most; I am not a professional chef, but an aircraft engineer and author.
In 1872, Phileas Fogg wagered twenty-thousand Pounds Sterling that he could circumnavigate the world in just eighty days. Of course, Phileas Fogg was a fictitious character created by the French author, Jules Verne, but our journey is real. Inspired by Verne’s book, Around the World in Eighty Days, I searched for stunning starters, mighty main courses and delightful desserts from all over the globe.
Whilst some of the dishes will be familiar to you, many will not. Wherever possible I have sought to bring something unusual to these pages. Maybe you think some of these dishes will be beyond your abilities, I think not. I prepared, cooked and photographed every dish in this book. There are no glossy, unattainable results here. So, if you can follow instructions, you are capable of making every one of these recipes and you too can go on a culinary journey, Around the World in Eighty Dishes. All dishes are or have been adapted to be halal.
